After stopping corticoids, he had a rapid neurological deterioration to a fatal encephalitis lethargica-like syndrome. Serum analysis demonstrated consistently elevated anti-streptolysin-O. This case illustrates a new severe phenotype in the spectrum of the post-streptococcal disorders.
